"Ms. DelVino demonstrates an impeccable command of the subtleties of meaning and grammar in the English language, as well as a broad understanding of the different styles, genres, and registers of writing and communication. Her revisions are astute and incisive."

~Luc Foin, CEO, Baladéo

"Ms. DelVino excels at teaching and creating lesson plans based on the perspectives and abilities of the students. She has created new curricula, brought new vigor to teaching, and introduced EEP staff and literacy instructors to new resources in order to develop a more rigorous literacy and ESL program. She is able to direct pedagogy that recognizes bilingualism as an economic, workplace, and academic strength. She has also developed curricula that incorporate student cultural backgrounds, individual histories, and the literacy strengths of their own cultures. Ms. DelVino’s unique ability to provide high quality instruction while fully embracing the diversity of our students has been a great asset to our program and is empowering to our clients. She has a remarkable passion, a love of languages, and a natural curiosity for the cultures her students represent ."

" I recently had the pleasure of completing Italian 115, an online course offered through Mercy College this past spring semester. Professor DelVino was an excellent teacher and one of the best that I have had through Mercy College. Her responses to questions were without delay, and explanations were effective and always given with a positive attitude. Her continuous warmth and encouragement throughout the semester made communicating with her a delightful experience. She opened the class in the first week with a candid acknowledgement that “memorization in all its mind-numbing drudgery was essential.” She asked that we try to memorize Italian as we might memorize music or poetry. This concept immediately helped me to relax and I was able to just let the Italian language wash over me. Professor DelVino complemented the class with very interesting opportunities to earn extra credit through cultural and linguistic assignments. Her homework assignments and tests were manageable and always prepared with a weekly synopsis of what we would be learning for that week and what was expected from us. There were no surprises, and we had ample opportunity to prepare ourselves for the exams and papers by the due date. I do hope that I have the opportunity to have Professor DelVino again in the future, or , better yet, to meet her in person. She is an outstanding professor."

"French is a wonderful language, and I will try to the best of my ability to pursue it. I now know how, thanks to Professor

She has not only been a great help and professor, but patient and knowledgeable, and did what she said she would: make us fall in love with French. Thank you for everything, professor!"

"After four years, I really appreciate when a professor still has passion for the subject as Professor DelVino does. She was always attentive to our progress and interests and would adjust the class to meet them. Grazie, Professoressa!"

"Professor DelVino is the best professor I had this semester. She was very understanding and always willing to help the students when they had difficulties with the chapters or the assignments. I would definitely love to have her as my professor again! She left the lines of communication open and checked in with the class. She made sure she emailed us and kept us up to date."
